The demise of the newspaper in many quarters are in peril and in others such as in Portugal are finding a new Renascence of sorts. I, is a new newspaper that throws away conventional thinking and integrates new ideas of what a newspaper really should be. I is for innovation, the Iberian newspaper is garnishing many awards in Europe as “best designed newspaper of Spain and Portugal.” This top leading new outlet is perhaps the future of the newspaper. Just imagine a newspaper that borrows from Boing Boing and Wired with an online feel to it with splashy fonts and content laced visual multimedia . The paper is finding success with the young, a group that many newspapers are finding hard to get to read newspapers. I, is trying to be relevant and as current to the fast pace of information available online.
