Popular Santa letter program ends in Alaska
Poor Santa might go postal this year as the U.S. Postal Service has canceled the popular North Pole program where parents and kids alike forward their mail to Santa since 1954. The service cited that many are concerned about privacy issues over the letters sent to North Pole, Alaska and gone will be that northern feel of respond to kids all over the United States. It is a true black Friday for kids and parents with the postal miser cutbacks. The U.S. Postal Service will be getting some coal this year for sure. The letters always went to North Pole, Alaska where the community of 2,100 people prided themselves as the home base of Christmas spirit. The letters will now be going to Fairbanks where the citizens of North Pole believe is less equipped to handle over 800 000 letters each year and most letters will be discarded and shredded and never answered. Parents should not feel bad, because the true North Pole is in Canada. Territorial disputes aside, the North Pole still is in Canadian possession. If you really want that authentic letter back, better send it to Santa’s true address.
