Goodnight Dune

There have been so many parodies of Goodnight Moon, Julia Yu has perhaps given us the best one so far, Goodnight Dune. If you have not read the original Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd or Dune by by Frank Herbert, this parody will be lost to you.

Boo-Boo Kills Yogi

This Yogi Bear parody is disturbing, but how many times didn’t you want Yogi to get it. He is a major pain and bosses around poor Boo-Boo. He always had the makings of a great rug. This is one ending you don’t want your kids to see.

Dr. Seuss Does Star Wars

Dr. Seuss Does Star Wars

Cartoonist Adam Watson is channeling through Dr. Seus as he asks, “What if Dr. Seuss did Star Wars.” The Star Wars parody is taken to a whole new level. I think Adam is onto special here, keep up the good work Adam.

Dick and Jane and Vampires

Dick and Jane and Vampires

Dick and Jane are back with a little help from their friend, a vampire. What? Yes the popular Dick and Jane series created in the 30′s are back with a new book called, Dick and Jane and Vampires. When innocent Dick and Jane meet a creepy, cape-wearing vampire, the unexpected happens: he becomes their friend! Dick and Jane and Vampires borrows from the classic stories and art we all know and love, but adds an of-the-moment twist: a vampire, illustrated in the classic Dick and Jane style.

Dick and Jane and VampiresCollectors of vampire memorabilia need a copy of this book: It deserves a place in their collections next to that box of Count Chocula cereal and the puppet of “Sesame Street’s” Count Von Count. A copy of this book should also go into a time capsule: It’s a good way to show future generations what was going on in American pop culture circa 2010. And at least a few parents with small children will have fun with this book as bedtime reading without worrying about causing bad dreams. In fact, I can think of at least one child who would probably have this book on her nightstand: Renesmee Cullen, daughter of “Twilight’s” Edward Cullen and Bella Swan.-Nick Owchar

The Michael Cera School of Acting

Now you can act just like Michael Cera. You could perpetually stay in arrested development as an actor.

michael ceraI sort of gave up my ambition to be handsome… I was excited about people thinking I was an idiot.

(on his love of awkward silences): Yeah, that’s my favorite thing. I always kind of end up in situations where I don’t know too many people, and I’m not very social, and I feel, you know, extremely uncomfortable. But there’s some secret pleasure I take in things like that, in things going horribly wrong.

Stark Expo 2010

Holy brilliant promotions for the Iron Man 2 movie.  Stark Industries International presents Stark Expo 2010 this May 7th at Flushing Meadow in Queens. This is a romp of an idea, great way to create online buzz for a movie I truly believe will need as much help as it can get.

Werner Herzog Reads Curious George-Parody

The parody of Werner Herzog the German director of Bad Lieutenant, Grizzly Man, and Rescue Dawn reads and interprets the children’s classic Curious George. A grimmer side of the classic book, yet funny at the same time.

First-Person Shooter Disease

Kids video games are bad for you. Besides carpal tunnel syndrome, sleep disturbance, neck aches, headaches, dry eyes, failure to eat regularly or neglect personal hygiene. Gaming now has a new disease, First-Person Shooter Disease. It’s bad enough they can’t distinguish between fantasy and reality.

Goodnight Bush: An Unauthorized Parody

Goodnight Bush: An Unauthorized Parody is a parody of the famous children’s classic Goodnight Moon. A
presidency comes to an end and this book is the perfect send off for
eight years of turmoil and uncertainty. This book is true to the art
and concept of the original book and will deliver many chuckles.

Goodnight Bush: An Unauthorized Parody is a hilarious and
poignant visual requiem for the Bush administration. In it we see a
childlike George W. Bush tucked safely away in the confines of his own
room with all of the toys he’s willfully destroyed, abused, or defaced.
Complete with a quiet Dick Cheney whispering "hush," this bedtime story
lets us finally say goodnight to the disaster that was the last eight
years.

Futurama Bender’s Game

[sandboxworld]_ad-j2Dd_Vg[/sandboxworld]

Futurama is becoming a self parody in a good sense. The new movies are
mostly an homage to characters from past episodes with new plots and
twists. Borrowing heavily from Dungeons and Dragons and Lord of the
Rings. Matt Groening brings us the best so far in the animated movies
of the Futurama franchise. The series always depended on pop culture
references. The lampoons are the driving engine of the show. Bender’s
Game seems to garnish more original material. Futurama in a sense has
become pop culture too but will always be a shadow of the Simpsons.
Futurama has a unique mystic that will transcend many years to come. As
in any science fiction story it always has a veiled modern day message
in the story. The one theme in the new feature is the energy crisis of
modern times.

With fuel prices skyrocketing, the Planet Express crew sets off on a
dangerous mission: to infiltrate the world’s only dark-matter mine,
source of all spaceship fuel. But deep beneath the surface lies a far
stranger place… a medieval land of dragons and sorcery and
intoxicated knights who look suspiciously like Bender. So park your
hover-car and saddle up your unicorn for Futurama’s grandest adventure
yet: BENDER’S GAME!
