Gerwig directed โ€œBarbieโ€ from a screenplay by Gerwig & Oscar nominee Noah Baumbach (โ€œMarriage Story,โ€ โ€œThe Squid and the Whaleโ€), based on Barbie by Mattel. 

Gerwigโ€™s creative team behind the camera included Oscar-nominated director of photography Rodrigo Prieto (โ€œThe Irishman,โ€ โ€œSilence,โ€ โ€œBrokeback Mountainโ€), six-time Oscar-nominated production designer Sarah Greenwood (โ€œBeauty and the Beast,โ€ โ€œAnna Kareninaโ€), editor Nick Houy (โ€œLittle Women,โ€ โ€œLady Birdโ€), Oscar-winning costume designer Jacqueline Durran (โ€œLittle Women,โ€ โ€œAnna Kareninaโ€), visual effects supervisor Glen Pratt (โ€œPaddington 2,โ€ โ€œBeauty and the Beastโ€) and music supervisor George Drakoulias (โ€œWhite Noise,โ€ โ€œMarriage Storyโ€), with music by Oscar winners Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt (โ€œA Star Is Bornโ€).
