According to Architectural Digest, the production of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie resulted in a global scarcity of Rosco’s fluorescent pink paint. “The world,” Greenwood said with a laugh, “ran out of pink.” But that claim, much like Barbie’s highly saturated world of high heels, isn’t as straightforward as it seems. I hope the pink paint will be available again by July 21, so we can enjoy more of that calming color. Gerwig mentioned to Architectural Digest how much she loves it.
Doesn’t the notion that the Barbie movie caused the shortage of pink paint worldwide seem too good to be valid? I wonder if this is a marketing ploy to attract more Barbie enthusiasts.
