Yannick Picard was born in a seclusive little town in Quebec called Montmagny, he is primarily known in Montreal for some of his breathtaking mural art. Walls are lucky to have his art in every crevasse facade that shelters people. Yannick returned home to Montmagny to finish one of his mural pieces which is like a calling card of his unique identity. Montmagny with a population of over 11 000 people is known for the International Accordion Festival in September and the Festival of the Snow Geese in October. Many who travel the Trans-Canada Highway or as we call it here in Montreal “The Met” will see some of his art on an apartment building not too far from The Cirque de Soleil of montage city life. You cannot mistake his art, it speaks it’s own language and grabs you right away. There is graffiti and there is mural art, Yannick is a commercial artist who happens to paint walls and really accelerates at it.
