I honestly thought The Naked Gun franchise was locked up in a Hollywood evidence locker for good—especially with the, ahem, O.J. Simpson-sized elephant in the room. But never say never in the age of reboots! Turns out, there is one man with the very particular set of skills needed to fill Frank Drebin’s oversized shoes—and that man is Liam Neeson. Yes, that Liam Neeson. He’s trading in his “Taken” threats for slapstick gags as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., son of the late, great deadpan disaster magnet.
Directed by Akiva Schaffer (of Saturday Night Live and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping fame) and produced by none other than Seth MacFarlane (because, of course, it is), this reboot aims to bring the absurd back to law enforcement in the most inappropriately hilarious way possible.
And the cast? A glorious mix of chaos and comedy: Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, pro wrestler Cody Rhodes, internet sensation Liza Koshy, Eddie Yu, and the always-intense Danny Huston. What could go right?
Get ready for banana peels, exploding fish tanks, and one-liners delivered with deadly seriousness. The Naked Gun is back—and it’s armed with dad jokes, pratfalls, and possibly a rogue mime or two.
