Married in Mayo: Hellmann’s Spreads the Love in Vegas

For many, marriage is the most memorable moment of their lives—so why not make it spread-tacularly unforgettable by tying the knot in a giant Hellmann’s mayonnaise jar? After all, if Elvis impersonators have been walking couples down the aisle for decades, what’s stopping a jar of mayo from saying, “You may now dip the bride”?

Heather Schroering and Nick Phillips did exactly that. The condiment-loving couple said “I do” at a Las Vegas chapel in a ceremony presided over by none other than Manny Mayo—the jar-shaped, spoon-wielding mascot for Hellmann’s. It wasn’t just a whimsical celebration of love; it was also a slick marketing move. Unilever, the parent company of Hellmann’s, footed the bill in exchange for turning the event into a creamy, crave-worthy commercial. Because nothing says eternal love like emulsified eggs and oil.

A month before their nuptials, Heather and Nick responded to a casting call looking for “chicken tender-loving couples willing to get married for a dipping sauce commercial.” The prize? A wedding, a stipend, and a lifetime of mayo-nnaise-dipped memories. Considering the average 2025 wedding costs around $36,000 (and nearly a third of couples foot that bill themselves), getting hitched with a jar of mayo at the altar might be the most economical and egg-centric decision you’ll ever make.

Of course, this raises an important question: if Mayo can officiate, what’s next? A bottle of ketchup is cutting the cake? Mustard giving the best-man speech? Relish walking Grandma down the aisle?

Unconventional? Absolutely. But in a world where love comes in all flavors, maybe it’s time to explore wedding vows with a bit more zing. So, here’s to those brave enough to mix a little weird with their wedding—and aren’t afraid to spread the love, one dollop at a time.
