Heidi Klum Stuns as Medusa at Her Star-Studded Halloween Bash

This might just be Heidi Klum’s most legendary costume yet, straight out of Mount Olympus. Tom Kaulitz, now officially a statue, and Klum arrived at her 24th annual Halloween party at the Hard Rock Hotel New York looking like they had stepped right out of ancient Greek myth or maybe a Ray Harryhausen film reel.

Draped in shimmering green scales and crowned with slithering snakes that would make even Athena jealous, Heidi transformed herself into Medusa, the original bad-hair-day goddess. Klum said she has always loved the story of Medusa, the woman cursed to turn anyone who looked at her into stone. “I wanted to be a really, really ugly Medusa,” she laughed, flashing sharp fangs. “And I feel like we nailed it to the teeth.”

Her husband, ever the supportive mortal, took one for the mythological team by dressing as one of Medusa’s unfortunate victims, literally turned to stone.

It reportedly took Heidi ten hours to morph into the gorgon queen, but she said every minute was worth it. Halloween is her personal Olympian event, and she continues to reign supreme as the goddess of costumes.

Medusa’s name means “guardian” or “protectress,” a symbol that has endured through the centuries in protective amulets and modern logos. Before becoming a monster, Medusa was a beautiful priestess of Athena who was cursed by the goddess after a tryst with Poseidon. Even after her death, her severed head retained the power to turn people to stone, serving as both a weapon for the hero Perseus and a symbol on Athena’s shield.

Today, Medusa has evolved into a powerful feminist symbol, representing female rage, strength, and transformation. By embodying her, Klum not only celebrated a mythic icon but also reimagined her as a modern figure of empowerment and glamour.

Klum has hosted her large, star-studded Halloween bash since 2000, and each year she raises the bar higher. This Medusa look could easily have Zeus himself turning his head, just hopefully not into marble. Move over Clash of the Titans, Heidi Klum’s Medusa costume is pure mythological magic and totally rocks, just not the guys who looked her in the eye.
