Growing a Good Beard

This time of the year the true prowess of a hockey player is the ability to grow a good beard. With more and more younger players making the fold some are barely able to grow a beard, the whiskers are a symbol of the maturity of a superstitious ritual in hockey lore. Add a dash of gray to distinguish the years of fortitude each player thrives to attain the goal of Lord Stanley, perhaps the most illustrious trophy in North America. Rosemary Travale knows a thing or two about beards and the growth of a fine beard.

Rosemary Travale is an Illustrator from Hamilton, Ontario, who grew up dreaming of adventures on the high seas. Not finding any seas in her neighbourhood, she decided to start drawing instead. Her work is filled with cute and quirky characters that would make even the roughest pirate surrender a smile.
