The Great Pumpkin Flood

Flooding causes Pumpkin redistribution in Upper Valley

Thousands of pumpkins were swept away this week in Upper Valley in Vermont after heavy rains. Farmer Walter Gladstone estimates he lost 60-100 thousand pumpkins. The pumpkins were picked up by the waters and found their way downstream to neighboring shores were residents collected the pumpkins. The great pumpkin flood got the attention of many Vermonters, many wanted to return the pumpkins to Walter Gladstone who didn’t have insurance on the pumpkin patch. Who would figure a flood would wash away his pumpkins.
