Alien: Earth is an upcoming American science fiction horror television series created by Noah Hawley, set within the iconic Alien franchise. Positioned as a prequel, the series takes place two years before the events of Ridley Scott’s 1979 cinematic classic, Alien. Blending high-stakes suspense with dystopian futurism, Alien: Earth introduces a bold new chapter to the beloved universe.
Premiering on FX on Hulu in the United States on August 12, 2025, the series will consist of eight episodes. The story begins when the deep-space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, triggering a chain of events that expose humanity to its most terrifying adversary yet. Amid the chaos, a mysterious young woman named Wendy (portrayed by Sydney Chandler) joins forces with a gritty squad of tactical soldiers. Together, they uncover a nightmarish threat that could change the fate of the planet.

Set in the year 2120, Earth is now ruled by five dominant megacorporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. This “Corporate Era” is marked by the coexistence of humans, advanced synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence), and cybernetically enhanced individuals known as cyborgs. However, a groundbreaking shift occurs when the brilliant and enigmatic Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unveils a revolutionary advancement in artificial life: hybrids—sophisticated humanoid constructs infused with human consciousness.
Wendy, the first of her kind, represents the dawn of a new era—one where the boundaries between man and machine begin to blur in the quest for immortality. But when Weyland-Yutani’s spacecraft crashes into Prodigy City, Wendy and her fellow hybrids are thrust into a deadly confrontation with terrifying alien organisms that defy comprehension.
In addition to Chandler’s leading role, the series boasts a robust international ensemble cast, including Timothy Olyphant as Kirsh, Alex Lawther as Hermit, Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier, Babou Ceesay as Morrow, Adrian Edmondson as Atom Eins, David Rysdahl as Arthur Sylvia, Essie Davis as Dame Sylvia, Lily Newmark as Nibs, Erana James as Curly, Adarsh Gourav as Slightly, Jonathan Ajayi as Smee, Kit Young as Tootles, Diêm Camille as Siberian, Moe Bar-El as Rashidi, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver as Yutani.
With Hawley at the helm, Alien: Earth promises to deliver a gripping, visually stunning narrative that expands the Alien mythology while exploring timely themes of identity, control, and the limits of human evolution.
