Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam

DC comics is making inroads with the all ages group with the release of three new titles Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam, Tiny Titans, and Super Friends for the Johnny DC imprint in early 2008.  It cannot be stressed enough that the Marvel and DC comics should lead the way to bring kids back  to comics, the majority of comics are now for adults and the kids just are not into these books. Comics are working in a reversal mode, there are more comic based movies released every other day and the comics don’t sell that well. In the old days comics sold better and you had a few movies that you could count on your hands. You would figure with all the movie exposure, the comics would sell better. Let’s face it, some comics are just as expensive as a movie. If you take 4-5 people to produce a comic and thousands to produce a movie and charge the same amount for the end product, there is a problem. In life you take the good with the bad, at least now we can see more comics to be enjoyed by all. With Marvel’s new rating system, mind you it is a work in progress, it will benefit all and bring more kids on board. Isn’t this what comics were supposed to be anyway? Kudos to DC and Marvel.
