    Black Sabbath created their unique style in Birmingham, a city also recognized for its Royal Ballet. The Royal Ballet Sinfonia will perform new orchestral compositions influenced by their music.

    Carlos Acosta has been tasked with creating a groundbreaking ballet in Birmingham. Drawing inspiration from the groundbreaking legacy of Heavy Metal, the ballet will be a groundbreaking collaboration between three composers and three choreographers. Leading the team is the highly acclaimed choreographer Pontus Lidberg, whose work has been performed by the Swedish Royal Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet, and the composer Chris Austin, who orchestrated the White Stripes music for Wayne McGregor’s Chroma. They will be joined by the award-winning writer Richard Thomas, known for his groundbreaking work in Jerry Springer, The Opera.
