A beautiful picture book of cosmic dimensions about the tranquility and happiness that come from no longer feeling alone, by Korean singer-songwriter Lee Juck and award-winning illustrator Lee Jinhee
In the vast expanse of the cosmos, there was a tiny star, gleaming quietly amidst the infinity of space. For eons, it shone in solitude, its celestial heart weighed with cosmic loneliness, until one fateful moment when its isolation was interrupted by the approach of humanity’s most revered traveler—the radiant Halley’s Comet, a celestial wanderer that has long inspired both poems and auguries. As the comet streaked across the heavens, its fiery tail painting the stars, the little star, timid and hopeful, called out with a quivering voice, “Will you… be my friend?”
But the comet, in its blazing journey, sped onward, too enraptured by its eternal path to linger. And yet, as the comet disappeared beyond the star’s sight, destined to return in another cycle of time, the little star’s loneliness began to soften. For in that fleeting encounter, it found profound solace—not in the comet’s continued presence, but in the certainty of its return.

No longer was the star forlorn, for it had learned a powerful truth. Though the comet must sail far beyond reach, its departure was not abandonment. In the boundless reaches of the universe, time and distance held no dominion over the bonds formed in the stardust. The star understood that true connection endures, untouched by the spans of light-years or the silence between. Only indifference can sever what space and time never could, and in this celestial truth, the little star found comfort, knowing that the comet, a beloved companion of the cosmos, would always return.
A long, long time ago, in a far, far corner of the universe, there lived a lonely little star. One day, a comet appears—is this finally the star’s chance to make a friend?
