The dog days are upon us once again. California is drying out in a recession. The Utopian dream and borrowing on credit is over. Those pools have literally dried up as many homes are abandoned or the bills are just too high to maintain. As the Lords of Dogtown did before, the subterranean youth culture have claimed these dry cement ponds for the skateboarders. Cannonball harks back to the early summer days of the 70’s as a youth culture not knowing the impact on society from their exploits. Are the Dogtown days back again? A new youth movement abound? Seems the boys are back in town.
Thousands of pools are festering in the hot Central Valley sun. For most people this is tragic. But for some, it’s an opportunity.
