
Dudley Doright and the Mounties are on full alert and have given Facebook 30 days to clean up their act and protect the privacy of Canadian citizens on Facebook. Basically the Canadian government wants to protect their citizens from themselves. Some of you might say this is stupid, but if China is able to curtail many sites such as Facebook and other social groups. When will The West start putting restrictions on Facebook too? Will Facebook pull the plug from Canada? How much maple syrop and Beavertails can Facebook generate from ad revenue. Plenty of course. Canada’s main beef is with third party apps harvesting information and distributing it without the user’s permission and Facebook keeps personal information of deactivated accounts in its databases. So who will have a brave face in 30 days? My money says Canada will give in. Folks just change your location on Facebook. I am moving to Japan as we speak.

In order to comply with Canadian privacy law, Facebook must take greater responsibility for the personal information in its care, the Privacy Commissioner of Canada said today in announcing the results of an investigation into the popular social networking site’s privacy policies and practices.
