You know the drill—Fridays have a habit of getting a little… freaky. But this time, they’re dialing it up a notch! Disney just dropped the first teaser for the highly anticipated sequel, “Freakier Friday”, starring none other than Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. And yes, it’s coming exclusively to theaters on August 8, 2025—so mark your calendars (or risk waking up in someone else’s body).
Before Lindsay Lohan stepped into Anna’s rebellious sneakers, Kelly Osbourne originally auditioned for the lead role. That’s right, she wasn’t gunning for the best friend character—she was in serious talks to play Anna herself! Disney even offered her the part, but in a plot twist fit for the movie itself, Osbourne ultimately decided to step away from the project. Imagine how freaky that alternate version would have been!
This time around, Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) are years removed from their original identity-swapping debacle, but life hasn’t exactly calmed down. Anna now has a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter, which means family drama is already at an all-time high. Just when things couldn’t get more chaotic, fate—or possibly a cursed fortune cookie—decides to mix things up again. Turns out, when it comes to magical body-switching mayhem, lightning can strike twice.
Joining Curtis and Lohan for this freaky family fiasco are Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Rosalind Chao, Chad Michael Murray, Vanessa Bayer, and Mark Harmon—a cast so good, even if you switched bodies, you’d still want to see it.
