I’m thrilled about the release of the new Mac mini with the M4 chip. Over the years, I’ve bought three versions of the older Mac Mini, but using them felt frustratingly slow, especially when compared to even the smallest updates in other Apple products. In contrast, this new Mac Mini is a game-changer with its impressive hardware enhancements. It features three Thunderbolt 4 ports, providing faster data transfer and improved connectivity options. The inclusion of front-facing ports—two USB-C ports supporting USB 3 and an audio jack with high-impedance headphone support—brings a lot of convenience for connecting multiple devices and peripherals seamlessly. I have high hopes for this model and can’t wait to make the purchase; it looks like the performance boost I’ve been waiting for.
Apple took the wraps off its latest technological marvel: the all-new Mac mini powered by the next-gen M4 and M4 Pro chips, delivering unparalleled performance in a smaller, 5×5-inch form factor reimagined around Apple silicon. With the M4 chip, the new Mac mini achieves up to 1.8x faster CPU speeds and 2.2x faster GPU performance compared to its M1 predecessor, making it a powerhouse for everything from everyday productivity to intensive media tasks. For users needing even more performance, the M4 Pro supercharges workflows, building on the M4’s tech foundation to handle more demanding projects with ease.

Mac mini is more versatile than ever — perfect for anywhere, from home offices to large businesses and beyond.
In addition to its powerful processing, the new Mac mini offers enhanced connectivity with front and back ports and, for the first time, Thunderbolt 5 on the M4 Pro model, providing ultra-fast data transfers. Not only does this Mac mini set a new standard in performance, but it’s also Apple’s first carbon-neutral Mac—achieving an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions through innovative materials, efficient manufacturing, eco-friendly transportation, and optimized power usage.
“The new Mac mini delivers gigantic performance in an unbelievably small design thanks to the power efficiency of Apple silicon and an innovative new thermal architecture,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. “Combined with the performance of M4 and the new M4 Pro chip, enhanced connectivity on both the front and back, and the arrival of Apple Intelligence, the Mac mini is more capable and versatile than ever, and there is nothing else like it.”
The new Mac mini also incorporates Apple Intelligence, a personal intelligence system designed to elevate user productivity, communication, and creative expression, all with robust privacy protections.
