Mama Bear Berenstain “Jan Berenstain” has passed away at the age of 88. The early Berenstain Bears books hold a special place in my heart. The relationship between father and son are greatly explored and perhaps often too emulated in further adventures. My favorite books in no specific order are The Bear’s Vacation, The Bike Lesson and The Bear’s Christmas. Basically the same bumbling father story told over and over again.
