There’s something wildly contagious about Phil Rosenthal—and no, it’s not the sneezy kind! It’s the way he lights up a room (or a screen) with his goofy grin, big heart, and unstoppable love for food, fun, and family. On his Netflix show, Somebody Feed Phil, he’s like a walking giggle machine who just happens to be good at hugging strangers and trying weird snacks. Whether he’s slurping noodles in Tokyo or cracking dad jokes with his family, Phil’s having the time of his life—and he’s inviting us all along for the ride!
Now, he’s back at it again—this time with a brand-new kids’ book, and he brought along his daughter Lily to help! In this delightful follow-up to their bestselling book Just Try It!, we meet a spunky little girl named Lil, who’s about to have a big adventure: staying at Grandma’s house all by herself for the very first time.
Exciting? Yes! Terrifying? DOUBLE YES.
Lil’s imagination is going bonkers. What if Grandma only serves broccoli soup…with broccoli croutons…and broccoli ice cream? What if the bed is made of rocks? Or worse—what if the mailman is a giant elephant who delivers packages with his trunk?!
Luckily, her dad Phil (who looks suspiciously like a cartoon version of the real Phil Rosenthal) has the perfect advice for all these wacky worries: “Just try it.” Because sometimes, the things that seem the scariest at first turn out to be the most fun (especially if they come with cookies and bedtime stories).
With silly surprises, giggle-worthy illustrations, and a warm reminder that being brave doesn’t mean never being scared—it just means giving it a shot—this book is a charming comfort for every kid (and grown-up!) facing a new adventure.

Just Try It! is brought to life by the talented Luke Flowers, an illustrator with over fifty children’s books under his belt. He’s the artistic mind behind the New York Times bestseller A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood: The Poetry of Mister Rogers and the festive favorite Disney’s The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic. Luke is also the creator and illustrator of the wildly popular Moby Shinobi series, which has sold over one million copies!
When he’s not busy making magic with his pencils and paints, Luke can be found jamming on the banjo, shooting hoops, performing puppetry, or exploring the great outdoors with his wife and three kids. He lives and creates in colorful Colorado Springs.
We’ll have to be a little patient for this delightful new read—Just Try It! (the sequel) is set to hit bookshelves on March 10, 2026. But don’t worry, there’s plenty of time to catch up! If you missed the first book in the series, now’s the perfect moment to grab a copy and dive into the hilarious and heartwarming world of Phil and Lil. That way, you’ll be all set for their next big adventure when the companion book arrives!
