“King of the Hill” Returns After 15 Years – Here’s What Fans Can Expect from the Revival
As a longtime fan of King of the Hill, I’m thrilled to see this beloved animated series making a long-awaited comeback. After a 15-year hiatus, the residents of Arlen, Texas, are back—and yes, they’ve aged! In a refreshing twist, the new season acknowledges the passage of time, giving fans a unique look at their favorite characters as they evolve with the times.
In the revival, Hank and Peggy Hill are now retired and returning home after spending several years working in Saudi Arabia. They come back to a very different Arlen than the one they left behind. Meanwhile, their son Bobby Hill is now 21 years old and embracing adulthood as an aspiring chef, trying to navigate the challenges and excitement of his new life.
The original voice cast returns, including Mike Judge (Hank Hill), Kathy Najimy (Peggy Hill), Pamela Adlon (Bobby Hill), Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss. The reboot is being produced by 20th Television Animation and helmed by original creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels. Joining them is Saladin Patterson as executive producer and showrunner, along with Michael Rotenberg and Howard Klein of 3 Arts Entertainment, and Dustin Davis of Bandera Entertainment.
Whether you’re a nostalgic fan or a newcomer, the King of the Hill reboot promises heartfelt humor, timely storytelling, and the same quirky charm that made the show a cult classic. Stay tuned for its premiere and get ready to return to Arlen!
