Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes: Coming to Digital and Blu-ray

The fate of the world hangs in the balance when 20th Century Studios’ “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” becomes available on digital platforms such as Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home on July 9. Physical formats including 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD will be released on August 27.

Directed by Wes Ball, this breathtaking addition to the Planet of the Apes saga has been praised by critics, with Matt Neglia of Next Big Picture calling it “a jaw-dropping spectacle” and Mark Hughes of Forbes describing it as “a visual masterpiece.” Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has captivated audiences globally, emerging as one of the year’s top box office hits and ushering in a new chapter for the iconic franchise.

Set generations after Caesar’s rule in a world where apes reign supreme, “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” centers on Noa, an ape, and Mae, a human, as they navigate their way through defining the future of ape-human coexistence.

Fans eager to explore the franchise further can look forward to the 4K UHD edition, which features “Inside the Lens: The Raw Cut.” This full-length alternative cut offers a unique split-screen comparison between the final film and an early version with unfinished visual effects.

Additionally, optional audio commentary by director Wes Ball, editor Dan Zimmerman, and VFX supervisor Erik Winquist provides insights into the filmmaking process. This exclusive content allows viewers to witness the actors’ performances before the visual effects are fully integrated.

Fans can own the entire Planet of the Apes saga digitally through select retailers. A special bundle, which includes all 10 films in the series, will be available for $100.
