The new cinematic for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight highlights a scene-stealing showdown titled “The Joker, Clown Prince of the Museum.” It blends chaotic humor with Gotham-sized stakes, delivering the signature LEGO slapstick, clever visual gags, and an unexpectedly epic tone as Batman confronts his most theatrical nemesis in a museum turned madhouse.
Developed by TT Games and slated for release in 2026, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an ambitious open-world action-adventure that traces Batman’s evolution from his early training with the League of Shadows to his rise as Gotham City’s ultimate guardian. The game delves not only into his battles but also into the making of his enduring legacy.
The story unfolds across six chapters spanning different eras of Batman’s career. Players witness his transformation from a disciplined trainee into a symbol of fear for Gotham’s underworld, while building a trusted network of allies, including Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing. Combat has been redesigned to feel more fluid and tactical, allowing players to chain dynamic combo attacks, blend seamlessly into stealth encounters, and deploy detective mode to uncover hidden clues. Boss battles against iconic villains like Joker and Bane deliver cinematic set pieces filled with LEGO humor and high-stakes action.
For the first time in the series, Gotham City is fully explorable on a grand scale. Players can patrol legendary locations such as Arkham Asylum, Ace Chemicals, and Wayne Tower. Side missions, hidden collectibles, and villain encounters are scattered throughout the city, encouraging exploration across rooftops, alleyways, and underground lairs.
Batman’s arsenal extends beyond gadgets, giving players control of multiple Bat-vehicles, including different Batmobile models tailored to mission types. High-speed pursuits, environmental puzzles, and combat scenarios integrate seamlessly with on-foot gameplay, adding variety and scale to each chapter. For seasoned players, a new “Dark Knight” difficulty mode raises the challenge with smarter enemies and tighter combat windows.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is scheduled to release in May 29, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. With its expanded open world, deeper combat systems, and a story charting the rise of Gotham’s protector, this installment promises to be the definitive LEGO Batman experience.
