I am in love with my two latest acquisitions Meet Mr. Product and Mr. Product. I have grown fond of Mr. Warren Dotz collection of books. My IKEA bookshelf has his books nestled in warm comfort. I love the vibrant colors of his books. As a graphic designer, it sparks the imagination each time I have a new assignment. His books are the first place I look for inspiration.
Mascots are not as popular as they used to be. The standard fare are still out there. It is nice to see the transition of mascots throughout the years. Being a Mad Men fan, Warren’s books are a trove of nostalgic eye candy.
It is amazing to see work like this that is void of Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. I love the feel of old school advertising. They are truly pieces of art. Warren Dotz’s books are like mini museums of advertising art.
