Simplicity is the rule of the game. If you live in a metropolitan city, graffiti is abound, to some junk, to others gold. That is exactly what Keith Haring found in New York when he bailed out on his commercial art tendencies, he went to the roots and joined the underground. Not exactly glamorous for your average student. Toil and inspiration, he built friendships and created some very vibrant art inspired from life around him from walls, buildings, and where one can put an impression to get the public’s attention. Most people don’t know the name Keith Haring, but be it music CD covers, greeting cards and advertising, there is a chance you ran into his art. Long gone from the planet, his art lingers on his site, and kids can have fun in his sub-site. Keith’s art is an inspiration for all, and gives you hope to the non artist who can feel he can also contribute. Art is an expression of the self, you don’t have to sell it to enjoy it.
