Seuss Studios pops open a brand new page with a bounce and a smile, saying Come along, young readers, the fun can begin. Created by today’s authors and illustrators and guided by the timeless spirit of Dr. Seuss, each book feels delightfully familiar yet wonderfully new. Silly surprises meet clever charm, where classic whimsy meets fresh imagination. Here, laughter leads the way, pages beg to be turned, and learning to read feels less like work and more like the best game in town.
This joyful journey began way back in 1957, when Dr. Seuss made reading fun with The Cat in the Hat and launched the beloved Beginner Books tradition. Seuss Studios proudly carries that happy torch forward, keeping the words friendly, the pictures bold, and the stories bursting with wonder. Each book even offers a special peek at the original Dr. Seuss sketch that inspired it, a secret little window into where the magic first took shape.
One splashy standout in the Seuss Studios lineup is Momo Sees the Sea by Avani Dwivedi. In this whimsical picture book, young readers dive beneath the waves for an underwater game of hide and seek that bubbles with surprise. When Momo’s ball goes plop into the sea, a mysterious ocean friend appears with a twinkle, a wiggle, and a tease. Off they swim on an adventure where fish sit in class all tidy, seahorses snooze in snug, sleepy heaps, and trumpetfish toot out tunes that wiggle and wow. With every page, readers are invited to look closer, wonder more, and read on to see if Momo will ever find the friend he seeks.

Inspired by Avani Dwivedi’s childhood in India, Momo Sees the Sea celebrates curiosity, discovery, and the joy of exploring the world with wide-open eyes. Lush, colorful illustrations and gentle, rhythmic text make it just right for beginning readers learning to sound out stories independently. It captures the playful spirit of Dr. Seuss while speaking in a voice that feels fresh, warm, and perfectly now.
Avani Dwivedi is an author and illustrator known for picture books, including My Bollywood Dream, a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year. She grew up in Navi Mumbai, India, before moving to the United States to chase her dream of becoming an artist. A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Arts with a BFA in Illustration and Book Arts, she draws inspiration from childhood memories, her lived experience as a South Asian woman, and her love of creating whimsical worlds full of heart. With Seuss Studios, her imagination joins a legendary legacy, helping raise a new generation of readers who learn that books are not just for reading, but for wondering, wandering, and smiling every step of the way.
