The selection of provocative Halloween costumes seems to be reaching new heights of absurdity. The offerings in the sexy costume section now include questionable choices like Sexy Grinch, Sexy Rooster, and Sexy Woolly Mammoth. It has become increasingly uncomfortable for me, as a parent, to accompany my daughter to a Halloween store. Fortunately, this year, my daughter opted for a Ninja costume, and I’m relieved to report that it was not part of the overly sensualized trend. The concern about the diminishing appropriateness of these costume options makes me wonder about the direction in which Halloween attire is heading.
