Stewie Griffin Gets Family Guy Spinoff on FOX

There’s gold in them Griffin hills. For years, the shiniest nugget in the animated chaos of Family Guy has been the diabolically delightful baby with the football-shaped head, Stewie Griffin. Equal parts evil genius, Shakespearean drama king, and pint-sized time lord, Stewie has been stealing scenes faster than Peter can devour a $9.99 all-you-can-eat steak special while insisting he’s “just pacing himself.”

Now the universe of Quahog is about to get even bigger. Stewie is officially getting his own spinoff series on FOX, slated to debut during the 2027–2028 television season. The show will be produced by Seth MacFarlane alongside longtime writer-producer Kirker Butler and animation veteran Kara Vallow. The project will come from 20th Television Animation, the same studio that has helped keep Quahog weird for decades.

In a show packed with talking dogs, cutaway gags, and enough questionable life decisions to fill a Quahog phone book, Stewie still manages to stand out. One minute, he’s plotting world domination, the next he’s delivering a monologue that sounds like it wandered off the stage at the Royal Shakespeare Company and straight into a diaper aisle.

Let’s face it. In the universe of Family Guy, Stewie isn’t just the brightest nugget in the mine. He’s the whole gold rush, complete with laser gadgets, time machines, and the occasional dramatic “Victory shall be mine!” echoing through the Griffin living room. And somehow he still has time for juice boxes and preschool naps.

The new series will zoom in on Stewie’s life in preschool, where the world’s most sophisticated toddler will juggle snack time with space-time. Armed with his usual arsenal of bizarre gadgets, questionable science experiments, and time-traveling contraptions, Stewie will explore the universe one juice box at a time. If you thought preschool was about finger painting and nap mats, clearly you’ve never met a baby who once tried to conquer the world before lunchtime.

According to insiders, the spinoff will exist independently from the main timeline of Family Guy. In this version of Quahog, Stewie attends Quahog Preschool, where classmates may have to deal with everything from wormholes opening during show-and-tell to laser-powered teddy bears during recess. One can only imagine the school notes sent home: “Dear Mr. and Mrs. Griffin, Stewie opened a portal to the 18th century again.”

Let’s be honest, many of the most memorable moments in the long history of Family Guy have revolved around Stewie Griffin. Whether he’s plotting world domination, roasting his father, or delivering a monologue worthy of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Stewie has always been the show’s tiny, tyrannical MVP.

So a spinoff centered on Quahog’s most theatrical toddler feels less like a risky experiment and more like the next logical step in the animated multiverse. Either that, or the showrunners finally realized that when it comes to Stewie, the diaper is still full of creative possibilities. And if history tells us anything, it’s that when Stewie gets his own playground, things are bound to get diabolically funny… even if someone’s juice box gets vaporized in the process.
