Taking Stock

Rzeczy (Things) is a collection of artifacts from Polish history past and present. Hording and arranging objects for over two years Andrzej Kramarz has amassed photographs that leap at up with nostalgia and story at the same time. The testimony of these objects cry in their unique way of a past that litters the minds of every Polish archetype from their cultural past. Communist Poland is still etched in the fabric of this nation. The collected antiques are ablaze with rich colors bordering on imagination with careful montage. The displays are arranged on the ground, on newspapers, cartons, strips of foil, and sheets of various colours. The objects are densely packed into the displays, lying one on top of the other, as if following the trends of horror vacui seen in folk art.
