Ted Geisel’s Abduction of the Sabine Woman

Dr. Seuss was not always Dr. Seuss. He was Ted Geisel as he parents named him before he became a book illustrator. There is no denying his art style even under his real name. Ted Geisel’s Abduction of the Sabine Woman painting is a curiosity piece. You can now own this piece of art. (Well not the original.)

Ted Geisel painted Rape of the Sabine Woman (title of the original circa 1930 painting) for the Dartmouth Club on 37th Street in New York City where it hung until the club changed locations in 1934.
