FX has officially renewed the beloved, The Bear, Emmy Award-winning series for a fifth season—and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Season four, which debuted to a white-hot reception from viewers, was a deeply satisfying journey that stirred both the soul and the senses.
I’ll admit, as I binge-watched the first two episodes of season four, I was a bit uneasy. The tone felt uncertain at first, but like any great dish, The Bear just needed time to simmer. As the season unfolded, something beautiful began to emerge. The characters we’ve come to love—flawed, bruised, and brilliantly human—began to blossom. The once chaotic kitchen found rhythm, and with it came a quiet, meaningful sense of happiness.
That, perhaps, is the heartbeat of season four: happiness. The restaurant, often a battleground in previous seasons, transformed into a place of celebration—a space where joy, connection, and purpose simmer beneath the pressure. After four seasons of heartache, tension, and turmoil, it was a joy to watch Carmy, Sydney, Richie, and the rest of the crew evolve and find new strength.
Like a slow-cooked meal finally reaching its peak, The Bear served up something truly nourishing this season. And just when I thought the final course had been plated—surprise! The fifth season is confirmed, and dessert is on the way. Will we now witness the fruits of their labor truly take root? Will excellence bring fulfillment—or just more heat?
Season four saw Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri), and Richard “Richie” Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) pushing themselves—and The Bear—to new heights. Every challenge was met with grit and reflection, as the team asked not only how to be better, but what better means. Alongside a stellar ensemble cast including Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson—with scene-stealing appearances by Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon—The Bear continues to raise the bar for storytelling.
“If you haven’t caught up yet, now’s the perfect time. All four seasons are currently streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ (with a bundle in the U.S.) and on Disney+ internationally. Pull up a chair. The kitchen’s not closed—The Bear is just getting started.”The Bear continues to be a fan favorite worldwide and their response to this season – as seen through incredibly high viewership – has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons,” said Landgraf. “Year-in and year-out, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story.”
