The Blues Brothers: The Escape of Joliet Jake marks the comic book writing debut of all three authors—Stella Aykroyd, Luke Pisano, and James Werner—each bringing a unique perspective and deep personal connection to the Blues Brothers legacy. Luke Pisano, a writer and marketing manager by profession, is the son of the late Judith Belushi-Pisano, widow of John Belushi, who was instrumental in preserving and promoting the Blues Brothers brand until her passing in 2024.

Adding an extra layer of authenticity and heartfelt tribute, the graphic novel will include a foreword by Dan Aykroyd himself, co-creator and original star of the legendary musical duo.
