I am a big geek at heart. I also am in the food business. “The Geeky Chef Cookbook: Real-Life Recipes for Your Favorite Fantasy Foods – Unofficial Recipes from Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and more” is a marriage made in heaven for me. I am going to be super busy this weekend as I try some of Cassandra Reeder’s delicious recipes. Game of Thrones draws to a conclusion this weekend, the wife and I will try a few recipes. The Geeky Chef Cookbook captures pop culture’s best know food references. The Pulp Fiction “kahuna burger” with crushed pineapples got my eye. My daughter is thumbing through the book as a menu and is calling for her own choice of future weekend recipes.
There is a recipe for all types of geeks. This book is a winner with my daughter. The recipes are easy to follow. Not too hard on the pocketbook, you don’t have to go on an adventure time quest looking for ingredients not found at your local stores. I love the playful pix. I hope there will be more books to follow. It is good to see a book like this. A scrumptious winner. One book our family will thumb through for many weekend recipes.
My daughter and I got a laugh of the “chocolate salty balls” South Park recipe. Even if you are not a geek, there is something for all in this book. The witty pop culture remarks makes this more than a recipe book. It is a delight to read. You do not have to be a geek or chef to enjoy these recipes.
