In the deepest parts of the Florida Everglades, Dr. Alec Holland (played by Ray Wise, known for his role in Robocop) and Alice Cable (portrayed by Adrienne Barbeau, famous for her part in John Carpenter’s The Fog), a government agent with a seductive aura, have created a confidential concoction that could solve world hunger and revolutionize society. Unbeknownst to them, their sworn enemy, Arcane (played by Louis Jourdan, recognized for his character in Octopussy), is scheming to steal their serum for his personal gain. Arcane raids their laboratory, captures Cable and exposes Holland to the chemicals before leaving him to die in the swamp. Transformed by his discovery, Holland becomes “Swamp Thing” – a heroic figure with human and plant characteristics – who will stop at nothing to save Cable and defeat the villainous Arcane, even if it means sacrificing his own life.
