Bookworms with tattoos, is it possible? Tattooed people do read and librarians also have tattoos. The Texas Library Association (TLA) decided to break astray stereotypes about the tattooed culture. Yes Virginia, your librarian is not a retiree old woman who sips tea and gingerly passes her days stamping out library books. Librarians come in different shapes and wildly tattooed for a calendar to raise money for the TLA library disaster relief fund. They celebrate at the same time diversity and freedom of expression by exposing themselves. These vibrant women are a welcome change associated with the typical stereotype of libraries and their custodians of knowledge. If junior decides to go to the library all of a sudden, you know he will be checking out more than books.
TLA suggests, “forget those predictable calendars with cute puppies and nature photographs” and get “better acquainted with these fascinating and dedicated women of Texas libraries” for the next year and a half.
