These are not your Toys “R” Us toys but they come from the heart. While fighting the Taliban in Khandahar, Afghanistan, First Class Rupert Valero is a hero in the area as he creates toys from junk. He and all the soldiers in that area are selling hope. Hope one day there will real toys for this area.

The Gatorade robot is looking to do some damage. Robot caps are on the loose. Private First Class Rupert Valero turns bottle caps into robot toys.

Toys are universal, be it in mainstream America, or way out in the middle of the desert. There is something wonderful when imagination is spurred up, and if I can do my part and bring a smile to a child, it may deter them from doing something they shouldn’t.
