The new Daredevil series can best be described as “Better the Devil You Know.” I’m thrilled about Daredevil: Born Again, the latest incarnation of the character’s story. Originally aired on Netflix, this beloved series has now been revived by Disney+, which saw its immense value and is bringing it to Disney+. Unlike some of DC Comics’ recent adaptations, Marvel, under Disney, has made a point of continuity by retaining the original cast, helping maintain the character’s authenticity and appeal. I’m hopeful that Disney+ will preserve the gritty magic the original series had on Netflix.
While Marvel retained the original cast for Daredevil: Born Again, it made a major creative shift by parting ways with head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman, as well as the directors slated for the rest of the season. This behind-the-scenes overhaul marks a significant reboot for the series, signaling Marvel’s commitment to reshaping and potentially elevating the narrative direction. Marvel’s decision to implement new creative leadership suggests a focus on fresh storytelling and an enhanced vision for Daredevil’s reintroduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, creating anticipation for a revitalized take on the character.
Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, continuing the role he embodied so well on Netflix and in earlier Marvel projects. Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere on Disney+ on March 4, 2025, and will be part of the MCU’s Phase Five, running for nine episodes in its first season.

For those unfamiliar, Daredevil is Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened senses who fights for justice both in his law practice and as a masked vigilante in the streets of New York. Meanwhile, his longtime nemesis, former mob boss Wilson Fisk, pursues a new path in politics. As the series unfolds, their shared history brings them into a “game of politics” instead of the usual physical battles, marking a shift from their earlier antagonistic relationship. Although the series borrows the Born Again subtitle, it doesn’t strictly adapt that storyline from the comics, promising a fresh approach to Daredevil and Fisk’s rivalry.
The first look at the Daredevil: Born Again trailer is already out, offering an exciting glimpse into what’s to come! For fans of the Marvel Universe, there’s even more to explore on Disney+, with an impressive lineup of additional series that dive deeper into beloved characters and storylines. Marvel continues to expand its Disney+ catalog, promising plenty of thrilling content still on the horizon.
