Yogi Bear and the Three Stooges Meet the Mad, Mad, Mad Dr. No-No is a 1966 knee-slapper of a comedy album brought to you by the mischief-makers at Hanna-Barbera Records. In this wild and wacky adventure, the Three Stooges—Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly-Joe DeRita—bungle into duty as park rangers. Tasked with saving the always-hungry Yogi Bear (voiced by the incomparable Daws Butler), the trio proves they’re better at getting into jams than out of them. Yogi’s been snatched by the dastardly Dr. No-No, a mad scientist with a screw loose (or maybe missing entirely) who’s whipped up a kooky contraption that transforms people into animals.
Of course, the Stooges tackle the mission with their trademark blend of pokes, bonks, and “nyuk-nyuk-nyuk,” proving once again that their motto might as well be “Why use one brain when none will do?” Expect plenty of missteps, pratfalls, and chaos as Moe tries to keep everyone in line (unsuccessfully), Larry dithers, and Curly-Joe demonstrates the subtle grace of a runaway bulldozer.

This album delivers laughs aplenty and marks the final recorded performance by the Three Stooges, making it a bittersweet slice of comedy history. So grab a picnic basket (better hide it from Yogi), and prepare for a madcap romp filled with zany antics and absurdity—because when the Stooges meet a mad scientist, things are guaranteed to go “stooge-tactically” sideways!
Fun Fact: For years, rumors circulated that Iggy Pop himself reached out to Moe to get permission for his band to use the name “The Stooges.” In reality, it was Iggy’s bandmate, Ron Asheton, who made the call. According to Asheton, Moe gave his blessing, saying, “Yeah, use the name as long as you’re not a comedy group or something.”
