If you are to believe the unicorn song by Irish Rovers, the unicorn didn’t make it on the ark was due to the fact he was battling zombies. “Zombies vs. Unicorns” illustrated by Josh Cochran is a perfect addition to Halloween folklore. I see legs with this idea, the ever loving unicorn fighting zombies is indeed a sight. Who would win the fight?
Where did the idea come form?
It was originally created as a cover for a collection of short stories titled “Zombies vs. Unicorns” edited by Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier. I was really inspired by Hieronymus Bosch’s paintings of weird creatures in surreal landscapes, especially his famous “Garden of Earthly Delights.” If you look carefully, I included one of his characters in my poster.
