Ballpoint Pen Paintings

When it comes to respect, the ballpoint pen gets none in the artistic community. This is one tool you do not use to draw with. There is one individual who makes a living of drawing solely with ballpoint pens. The result is amazing, short of miraculous. Bic pens have always been office doodling devices.  Juan Francisco Casas, a former art teacher at the University of Granada in southern Spain where he studied when he was a student takes it to another level. He draws ten feet tall photo realistic paintings with only Bic pens. When you master the pen like he does, you almost can say that his drawings are really pictures. You will only know if somebody tells you it’s not a photograph.
