Revenge is a dish best served loud—especially if you’re Alice Cooper. More than half a century after the original shock rock pioneers first made waves, Alice Cooper is reuniting with his classic band lineup—well, almost all of them. On April 19, 2025, it was officially announced that Alice Cooper has joined forces once again with longtime bandmates Michael Bruce (guitar), Dennis Dunaway (bass), and Neal Smith (drums) to record a brand-new album titled The Revenge of Alice Cooper. This marks their first full collaboration in 51 years.
The reunion album is slated for release on July 25, 2025, via earMusic. Stepping into the late Glen Buxton’s shoes—Cooper’s original guitarist who passed away in 1997—is acclaimed guitarist Gyasi Heus, known for his fiery stage presence and vintage sound.
Legendary producer Bob Ezrin is once again behind the mixing board. Ezrin famously shaped the sound of Alice Cooper’s most iconic albums, including Love It to Death, Killer, School’s Out, and Billion Dollar Babies. His collaboration with Cooper has spanned decades and includes production work on 11 of Cooper’s solo records, starting with 1975’s theatrical masterpiece, Welcome to My Nightmare.
The long-awaited first single from The Revenge of Alice Cooper, aptly titled “Black Mamba,” has officially slithered onto the scene—and it’s already sending shockwaves through the rock world. Both fans and critics are buzzing about the track, which features a spine-tingling guest appearance by Robby Krieger, the legendary guitarist from The Doors. Krieger’s signature psychedelic tone wraps itself around the song’s serpentine rhythm, adding a hypnotic edge that deepens the track’s ominous allure.
“Black Mamba” opens with a coiled intensity—its moody atmosphere and venomous groove pulling listeners in like a slow, dangerous spell. Razor-sharp guitar licks, pounding drums, and dramatic flourishes conjure the same eerie theatricality that defined Alice Cooper’s golden age. This is shock rock in full form: bold, dark, and dripping with menace. And yet, there’s an uncanny freshness to it, as though the decades since the band’s last full reunion simply evaporated in the heat of their chemistry.
Dennis Dunaway’s bass work stands out with sinister precision, laying down a throbbing foundation that slinks beneath the surface of the track like something alive. Meanwhile, Alice Cooper’s signature voice-over vocal style—half snarl, half storyteller—returns in full force, casting a spell that feels like it came straight out of a haunted carnival. It’s the kind of performance that reminds you why Cooper remains the master of macabre rock ‘n’ roll theatrics.
From the opening riff to the final bite, it’s obvious: this band hasn’t lost a step. “Black Mamba” doesn’t just pay homage to the past—it lunges boldly into the now, proving that Alice Cooper and his original bandmates still have plenty of poison in their fangs.
But the burning question on everyone’s mind is this: Will the original Alice Cooper band hit the road again? Fans around the world are eager to know if this historic reunion might extend beyond the studio and onto the stage. When asked about the possibility of touring with the classic lineup, Alice Cooper didn’t rule it out—but he made it clear that nothing is set in stone just yet.
“We haven’t even really gotten to that point yet,” Cooper explained. “I don’t see it turning into a full-scale tour — that would be very, very difficult, especially when you haven’t done it in so long. But I can imagine something more focused, like hitting a few key cities — Detroit, New York, L.A., maybe even London — and doing a short set, maybe 30 or 40 minutes, in intimate club settings.”
He added that nothing is off the table: “We always leave the door open for these kinds of things. If it feels right and seems doable, we go for it.”
