Comic Book Art as an Investment

When you think about it, who are the greatest recent artists on the market? Dali, Warhol and Picasso are long gone. Comic book art is becoming a booming business.  Todd McFarlane’s Spider-Man #328 cover sold for $675,250 and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Collectors are buying more original art than before. Many believe it is a better investment than the stock market.

“Art has become a real asset class, because people are now recognizing what art is worth as an investment, and they are seeing the appreciation,” said Steven Halliwell, managing director at The Collectors Fund LLC, which manages portfolios of private art investors.
