The World of Disney is an Utopian fancy at best. Since childhood we are fed the illusion that the world is a pristine place of order and beauty. Disney is a save haven with all it’s branding of falseness. Dismayland is a realistic Brazilian depiction of slum conditions created by Jeff Gillette who uses the visual metaphor of Disneyland in a far too true picture of world poverty. Try as we may, these conditions are suffered by many in our own backyards, we close our eyes to it. Open them wide and you will see it or just continue living in your own Disneyland.
