Leo Timmers

Leo (1970) started drawing comic strips when he was only 8 years old. At the age of 12, he published his first comic strip. After studying publicity and graphic design, he took up a job as a freelance illustrator; first he started working on children’s books, later on he began doing editorial illustrations as well.

From the very beginning, his children’s books drew interest from foreign publishers, and so far his books have been published in Germany, the United States, Korea, Brazil, Spain, France, Sweden and Denmark. In 2000, his picture book ‘Happy with me’ was awarded with the ‘Bookfeather’-prize for best upcoming talent. His editorial work has been published in major magazines and newspapers in Belgium and the Netherlands such as Humo, Knack, De Morgen, De Standaard magazine, Menzo, De Groene Amsterdammer, Psychologie magazine.
