Sebastian Maniscalco finally has a vehicle that sharpens his onstage wit by pairing him with Robert De Niro on film. The Italian stereotypes are played to the gallery. The son and father duo is sure to be hit with fans of De Niro’s snarky know-it-all father. Bouncing off each other, this is sure to be a family favorite for moviegoers. Just in case the movie tanks, they threw in a peacock for good measure.
Sebastian Maniscalco joins forces with legendary two-time Oscar winner, Robert De Niro in the new comedy About My Father. The film centers around Sebastian (Maniscalco) who is encouraged by his fiancée (Leslie Bibb) to bring his immigrant, hairdresser father, Salvo (De Niro), to a weekend get-together with her super-rich and exceedingly eccentric family (Kim Cattrall, Anders Holm, Brett Dier, David Rasche). The weekend develops into what can only be described as a culture clash, leaving Sebastian and Salvo to discover that the great thing about family is everything about family.
In theaters May 26, 2023.
Fun Fact: Sebastian Maniscalco made his feature film debut, as Johnny Venere in the Academy Award-winning film Green Book.
