When watching The Brady Bunch as a kid you have to acknowledge the silent star of the show. The house. Yes, kids all over the world marveled at the house that the Brady Bunch lived in. Not everybody had the means to live in a house like that. They were more than normal kids, they had better toys and a big house to incubate their childhood in. The Brady house played a very significant role in Sherman Schwartz’s TV show. Sherman also created Gilligan’s Island, the island too was a major character of that show. You could say the kids were castaways within a house that most kids in the world did not live in. Who can forget that big staircase? It was the scene stealer of the house.
The house made an appearance recently on HGTV.
Maureen McCormick, Barry Williams, Eve Plumb, Christopher Knight, Susan Olsen
The TV siblings joined Property Brothers stars Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott, Mina Starsiak and Karen E Laine of Good Bones, siblings Leanne and Steve Ford of Restored by the Fords, Hidden Potential’s Jasmine Roth and Lara Spencer of Flea Market Flip for an on-camera walk-through of the home. HGTV snapped up the house in a bidding war with Lance Bass of all people. The house was used for exteriors on the beloved sitcom and is renovating it on camera, which is being described by the network as “one of the biggest programming events that HGTV has ever undertaken.”
Fun Fact: The Brady house set was used in shows such as Mission: Impossible and Mannix.
