Ice Castle

Some countries celebrate the coming of snow and build around the frigid conditions to amuse themselves. Take Harbin in north-east China as an example, they turn ice into a thing of beauty. They are hosting, The International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival. This is one place where there is no shortage of ice. The celebration of snow and ice is a visual feast of elaborate complex displays of ice sculptures. The Boston Globe captured the event in dazzling photographs and film.
