You don’t have to be Jacques-Yves Cousteau or Captain Nemo to know your ABC’s or live under the sea. If you are James Mattison, knowing your A-B-Sea you will not be like a fish out of the sea, because you will know your fish. A personal project James created a chart for his daughter as a learning tool about the fish found in the Arabian Gulf.
I got really enthused about this project, especially once I’d started researching the fish and found them to have such weird and wonderful names. The illustrations, based on similar ones I’d seen by Charlie Harper, were kept as true-to-life as possible while allowing a certain amount of artistic impression to get that graphic feel.
